Early Attack Detection for Securing GOOSE Network Traffic

The requirements for the security of network communication in critical infrastructures have been more focused on availability data rather than integrity and confidentiality. IEC 61850 substations can be hindered by Generic Object Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE) poisoning attacks that might result threats such as Denial Service (DoS) or flooding attacks. In order to accurately detect similar attacks, a novel method Early Detection Attacks GOOSE Network Traffic (EDA4GNeT) is developed present work. EDA4GNeT considers dynamic behavior traffic electrical substations. A mathematical modeling adopted anomaly detection based statistical hypothesis testing. model also support management architecture appropriate performance studies. To test compare obtained results with related works found literature, simulation DoS attack against 66/11kV substation several experiments used case study.
